The Elements

What happens when a metal-headed bassist is combined with an indie-jazz drummer and a hip-hop/classic rock singer? A hell of a good time! Fueled by their wildly different musical influences, modern rock band The Elements brings a dynamic and fresh sound, one that is impossible to pin down. Vocalist Michael Johnson, bassist Nolan Schmidt and drummer Andy Larson craft genre-bending music that’s original, unpredictable and undeniably catchy. Don’t miss their standout singles “Losers Make Better Youths,” “Whiskey” and “Home” on various streaming platforms.

Jon Edwards

With an early cosign from one of his biggest inspirations, Charlie Parr, young Jon Edwards has been taking his devotion to blues stylings and applying them to his own songwriting. He’s been taking his one-man show to as many stages as he can while working behind the scenes to raise money for causes he believes in, spearheading fundraisers at house parties and venues like Sacred Heart Music Center. Edwards has immersed himself in the Duluth music scene he has admired since attending his first-ever concert in Leif Erikson Park, where he saw Parr, Retribution Gospel Choir, The Boomchucks and more. Edwards will be playing songs on his 12-string and resonator guitars at Homegrown, and likely selling handmade CDs.

Eddiedition

Superior’s Eddie Higgins has been performing down-to-earth hip hop for more than 20 years, continuing to refine his sharp, often uplifting sound. Under the mic moniker Eddiedition, he combines his musical influences with personal experiences to draw inspiration for his raps. His shows are often fundraisers for causes like breast cancer awareness and Toys for Tots. Over the years he has worked with other local artists like Jaze, BeyondBliss, Legitimit, C-Silence, DJ A-DUB and NonFic.
