Zeta Carinae is the prolific project spearheaded by electronica magician Marshall Hampton. He calls his band “an evolving project using synthesizers, guitar and sometimes theremin and other guests.” Hampton creates synth-drenched soundscapes that sound like they were recorded inside a mirror, creating a unique, beat-filled musical atmosphere out of thin air. He said this year’s performance at Homegrown will be heavy on ambient sound and looped guitar, with more visual effects. Two Zeta Carinae albums were released in 2024, Scouting and Blackbird Bells.
