Highly flammable dance troupe the Spin Collective light the match to outdoor performance art. The group twirls burning hoops, fire poi, flaming sticks and other instruments of danger frowned on by the Duluth Fire Department. Hot, funky tribal beats are piped in to melt the setting. Expect anything from a steampunk twist to a Day of the Dead homage with plenty of colorful costumes — which may or may not be fire retardant. Burning brightly since 2010, the Spin Collective includes Aleasha Hladilek, Jillian Forte, Denise Hooper, Sherry Christiansen, Jayme Hudson, Matthew Lindberg, Erin Filteau, Amethyst Harle, Samantha Linder and Hannah Albert.
