The Lonely Loons are a four-piece rock band with roots in Duluth, Bemidji, and the Twin Cities. Named after Minnesota’s state bird, and maybe their own self-awareness, they serve a smorgasbord of rock – indie, psych-blues, lounge-rock, even Halloween rock. Influenced by early-2000s bands Kings of Leon and The Strokes, the Lonely Loons rock out with Tanner Koetter on vocals, piano, and guitar; Parker Warfield on bass and guitar; Matt Young on guitar; and Tony Kuefler on drums. “Homegrown is one of the highlights of the year because it always brings back lots of friends that moved away,” Young says. “The fact that the band can have a reunion with friends and play in the festival itself is a magical thing.”
