Somewhere in a wind-whipped forest near Cotton, in a place where owls hoot all night and taconite trains run all day, The Brothers Burn Mountain are making music. Ryan and Jesse Dermody have been developing their innovative rock-and-groove mix of blues, folk and Americana for more than 20 years. The duo released its 11th studio album The Thrill and the Flame in 2022 and has recorded with Minnesota music legends Alan Sparhawk, Ryan Young and Jerree Small. It has performed more than 2,100 shows, all ending with a hypnotic drum jam that is a joy to witness.
