Duluth singer-songwriter and folk poet Ross Thorn had a huge year in 2023. The Wisconsin native released his debut album, Hugo, in April, snared a coveted Trampled by Turtles Palomino Grant in June and performed on the Bayfront Festival Park main stage opening for Jenny Lewis and Trampled by Turtles in July. How did this happen? Thorn sings songs from the heart with a warm, weathered voice, easy acoustic guitar and stage presence as comfortable as an old fireside rocking chair. A skilled collaborator, Thorn will share the stage with a Duluth string music collective including Cavan Denning, Jen Krussow and Clif Nesseth.
