Rocking Rodents

Rocking Rodents is a four-piece rock band born from days of scurrying around their high school halls and a shared instinct to make noise that sticks. Calliope Opal fronts the band and sings, Corduroy Jompson strums the guitar, Xander Ripley-Jaakola thumps on the bass guitar and Alec Williams bangs on the drums. With a cool, casual rock sound, this group plays mostly originals. The Rodents recently recorded a video of their song “The More” for an NPR Tiny Desk Concert submission that perfectly captures their conversational grunge sound. Their debut album, People/Fate, is slated for release shortly before Homegrown. Punxsutawney Phil predicts it’ll be a stellar show.
