Rick McLean Band is a fuzzed-out three-piece delivering raw garage rock with detours into punk and psych-rock. The lineup features Rick McLean on guitar and vocals, Pete Biasi on bass and backing vocals, and Mike McLean on drums, blending punchy riffs with an offbeat edge. In 2025, they recorded their fifth release, Zoom Out & Breathe, at Flat Black Studios in Iowa, their first album pressed as a vinyl LP. The release coincided with Rick becoming a first-time dad and taking an extended paternity leave from music. McLean says he feels Homegrown is a reunion of sorts for much of the community, adding, “there’s an energy around town of people shaking off winter and getting excited about what’s happening.”
