Formed in 2017 to meet the growing demand for old-world, high-energy dance music, Polkarobics has become a fixture at Oktoberfest celebrations across the Twin Ports. The four-piece group plays a variety of waltzes and polka tunes like “Tavern in the Town” and “Beer Barrel Polka.” But the set list isn’t just for grandma. The band runs the Ramones, the Cars and classic country through the polka sausage grinder. It spices everything up with some quirky, danceable original material. The group features Suzi Ludwig on accordion, Jimi Cooper on guitar, Veikko Lepisto on bass and Brad Nelson on drums.
