Duluth’s Lake Effect String Band features Will Robertson on guitar, Luke Rutten on mandolin, Bob Helland on bass, and Michael P. Geraci on banjo. The group has been gigging around the Twin Ports for over two years and looks forward to their Homegrown debut. Although they have musical backgrounds across a wide variety of genres, they found Bluegrass to be the perfect vehicle for learning new licks and interpreting classic and contemporary tunes. Their songwriting explores themes ranging from Viking explorers and gentrification to lost childhood and the power of music in community. With a standard arrangement of guitar, banjo, bass, and mandolin, Lake Effect brings joy to their shows with hot pickin’ and smokin’ vocals. You’ll want to scoot yer boots when the bass gets thumping and their Bluegrass speed will get yer heart pumping!
