As former guitarist for the Half Hearts, singer for Exiles and guitarist for Tyrannicals, Flip Arkulary made a name for himself as a performer in the Duluth music scene and beyond. He opened a recording studio in 2019 and has since become more known as a sound engineer. He’s not done making his own music, however. In August Arkulary released the lo-fi edition of his first solo album, a space opera titled Dipper, and is working on two follow-up releases. Many of the musicians who appear on Dipper; are expected to join him on stage at Homegrown, such as Moriah Robyn Skye, Benjamin Brueland, Kenneth Gregory Bressler, Eric Pollard and Misisipi Mike Wolf. Expect costumes, story arcs and plenty of synthesizers.
