Keyboardist Flip Arkulary refers to his act as “a mix of performance art, kinetic dadaism, electro glam rock, wrapped around a dance band.” These days he is typically joined by drummer Justin Korhonen, vocalist Julie Ostazeski, and bassist Kyle Gondik-Anderson. At Homegrown, the band will also feature saxophonist Joe Anderson and keyboardist Kenneth Gregory Bressler. Arkulary’s fourth record, a trip-hop and psychedelic trance album called Drugs for America, was released in August. He is already at work on a fifth album, an avant-garde trance-dance recording called, Meat for Kitty Man.
