Hard rock four-piece Discord at Dawn is also known as DAD, a nod to all of the members’ role as parents. DAD writes songs about “science, fiction, science fiction, and sometimes none of that,” according to vocalist Joel Conley, who sings with the “voice of a fallen angel” in some songs and “howls like a wounded wolf” in others. Singing along with him is Andy Morrow, who doubles on guitar. Backing them is Robin Ryme, who sometimes gets released from a monastery basement to rock the bass, and David Anderson, who beat the devil with his own golden drumsticks.
