Musicians Shanna Willie and Clancy Ward can pretty much play any genre, but Dirt Magnet’s sound has its roots in rock ’n’ roll while spouting a “don’t be a dick” mantra. Both members of the duo sing, with Ward on bass and Willie on drums. Their first album, Dirt Magnet, was released on Bandcamp in April 2025, after being recorded in their own studio and touched up by Pete Biasi. The duo is on a mission to build community and promote inclusivity while singing about themes such as transportation woes, the state of healthcare, and mediocrity with enough silliness to keep it light.
