From neighbors to college roommates to bandmates, Death Valley Yacht Club is a two-piece band that features vocal harmonies and interplay between the duo’s tightly arranged acoustic guitars. The creative collaboration between Charlie Jacobs and Alex Oberton “brings the high and lonesome essence” of bluegrass and modern folk music, drawing inspiration from artists such as the Beatles, Neil Young, the Avett Brothers, Jesse Welles, and Simon & Garfunkel. Their debut album, Dead Flowers, was released in April 2025, with nine titles, including “Worm Song,” “Garden Song,” and “Song Things You Can’t Say.”
