The acoustic folk band Coyote was formed in 2008, though its roots go back to a 2006 recording session in Jerree Small’s Superior living room. With Marc Gartman on banjo and Small on guitar, the duo created tracks that a year and a half later would be the basis of Coyote’s debut album, Times of Drought. Bassist Matt Mobley joined the band shortly after that. Each member has kept busy with other music projects over the past decade, but Coyote’s output has remained strong; the trio launched into 2019 with the release of a fourth studio album, A Different Path.
