Cigarette Picnic is a sultry, stripped-down female power trio rooted in rich three-part harmonies and minimal instrumentation. Based in Duluth, they perform original music with bold flavor and smooth soul. The trio features collaborative lyricism and composition by Erica “Ricky” Francois, Madi Phyle, and Elsa Krantz, all on vocals, along with Krantz on electric guitar. Cigarette Picnic evolved in January 2025 when the three came together to perform a show of mostly covers at Bent Paddle Brewery. Their stripped-down, intimate sound set them apart and catapulted their presence in the Duluth music scene. They have since collaborated with bands like The Foxgloves, Triple Fiddle, Saltydog, and Hot Tamale Cosmos.
