Fourteen-year-old baritone singer and mandolin, harmonica, bass, guitar, and banjo player Brody Heisick-Thole leads Brody & the Roadies, an all-in-the-family country/Americana band. The group plays mostly covers, but sprinkles some originals into their set. Based in South Range, Wisconsin, the Roadies include Brody’s little brother, Bryce Heisick-Thole (age 11), on drums, ukulele, and mandolin, as well as their grandpa, Jim Thole, on guitar and bass. Together they explore a variety of music from Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, John Prine, and Steve Earle to Soul Asylum and R.E.M.
