Formed on a front porch in 2013, Breanne Marie & the Front Porch Sinners have constructed a genre they call Great Lakes Country — delivering high-energy American country jams and soulfully sentimental ballads. Songwriter Breanne Tepler fronts the band on lead vocals and sometimes trumpet. She’s backed by Evan Tepler, Kailyn Pelerin, Johnny “Blaze” Peterson, Matt Groom, Tarek Makky and Dicky Brooks, who blend traditional pedal steel and fiddle with guitar lines to form the sound. Americana Highways, an online magazine that collects stories of Americana and roots-rock music, describes the music of the Front Porch Sinners as “a brilliant blend of ’90s indie and country.” Fans can look forward to hearing songs from an upcoming album, Two Trees, at this year’s Homegrown.
