Boxcar is a hard-driving country band with a rock ’n’ roll edge. Led by singer/guitarist Blake Shippee, the group seeks to cleanse whisky-soaked souls in the names of George Jones, Hank Williams and John Prine. Joining Shippee in the band are Misisipi Mike Wolf on guitar, Rick Bruner on drums, and Gordon Lewis on bass. Boxcar’s original repertoire can be heard on the 2020 album Cheap Hotel. A collection of tributes to the music gods, Covers – Vol. 1, hit Bandcamp in 2021. Shippee released a solo effort in 2022, It All Started from a Whisper.
