Born Too Late started playing gigs in 2016, when its members were still in elementary and middle school. They were “born too late” to have lived in the eras of the music in their set list, which featured the songs of rock bands such as Guns ’n’ Roses and Fleetwood Mac, along with country artists such as Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Since then, the band has won a pair of battle-of-the-band contests, performed at a slew of festivals in the region and played hundreds of bar gigs. Born Too Late features Rokkyn Nelson-Kavajecz on vocals, her brother Traxx Nelson-Kavajecz on guitar, Taylor Shykes on bass, and Jon Clark on drums. Their debut album, Rebel Child, was released in July.
