New singer-songwriter Ashe Berton lists Maggie Rogers and Ingrid Michaelson as her influences, but her latest single, “Come From,” sounds like she wrote it with British folk legend Nick Drake on a drive between Two Harbors and Grand Marais. Heartfelt and deeply personal, the song takes listeners to a quiet place that’s both haunting and beautiful. As a solo artist, Berton performs with her acoustic guitar regularly in North Shore pubs and breweries and toured last fall in Colorado. She adds Oliver Newton on guitar and backup vocals and Ian Devaney on djembe drum for her Homegrown debut.
