Amy Abts has a lot of history in Duluth. For one thing, Abts was the very first performer at the very first Homegrown Music Festival and has earned the right to pull rank on basically anyone in town as a result. For another thing, Abts made a lot of music here with the band the State Champs and as a solo performer. The artist returns in 2019 with new bandmates—drummer Andrew Valentine and bassist Spencer Gosewisch—to show everyone just how to do the three-piece indie rock thing. Abts’ most recent album is 2018’s Fifty-Fifty.
