The art punks rocking out with 500 Million Society “find ominous joy in gravitas.” Formed over 15 years ago to “fight global elites, unspeakably powerful families, corrupt financiers, and media overlords” with their music, the band members include Dicky Brooks on vocals and bass, Tim Nelson singing out with his guitar, organist and vocalist Russel Sacket, and Jim Hagstrom on drums. With influences like Joy Division, The Fuzztones, The Seeds, Mudhoney, Deep Purple, The Dead Boys, and The Sonics, 500 Million Society rocks out by “meeting darkness with darkness,” but makes it bouncy, deep, and fuzzy.
