Some call Deep Fake Five “mystery rock.” Its members are not so sure. “The band has been the ‘rawk’ in the neighborhood in one form or another since the first star fired,” said singer and guitarist Cliff Lavigne. “We are pretty and not pretty — just like everything else.” The band has not talked about its alien influences, origins outside of Minnesota or a strange discovery inside a U-Haul. “We could get into it, but some chicken might be monitoring this,” said Lavigne. The other four of the Deep Fake Five noisemakers are Theodore Larsen, Dan Munthe, Scott Kimball and Cameron Mathews.
