Guitar players Sam Tuthill and Andrew Lee formed an acoustic duo to explore vocal harmonies, songwriting and storytelling in 2014. But that wasn’t loud enough. The pair added drummer Alex Nelson and bassist Sean Zarn in 2016 and formed WNDY. Now fully-electrified, the group has a bigger, roots-rock sound behind its original material and covers that range from Shovels & Rope to State Radio. In 2017, WNDY toured Minnesota and did a little recording, with plans to issue a debut album later this year. “We’re not deaf yet,” says frontman Tuthill, “but we’re working on it.”
