The True Malarkey

The cover of the True Malarkey’s 2017 debut EP, Presidential, features the bust of a man dressed in a suit, his face distorted by an orange and black chemical wash. While it’s unclear who’s getting this artistic face punch, it is clear guitarist Chris True, bassist Jesse Gangi and drummer Mark Blom have a formidable rock-and-roll power trio. The True Malarkey pairs big, fuzzy guitar riffs with a hard-driving rhythm section to create a landslide of sound. Their songs are politically pointed, musically raw and loud enough to break windows in the White House.
