The Murder of Crows formed when Low guitarist Alan Sparhawk and folk fiddle player Gaelynn Lea collaborated to soundtrack a Lon Chaney film in 2011. The music they created matched the film: haunting, curious, intense and beautiful. With instruments connected to looping pedals, the pair create layered waves of slow, momentous sound punctuated only by Gaelynn Lea’s soul-stirring vocals. A set list includes works from each collaborating artist and covers that range from Nirvana to Peter Tosh. The performance is hypnotic, engaging and uplifting. The band prefers to think of it as ideal bird-watching music.
