Twenty years ago, Mark Lindquist was part of a music lineup celebrating Scott “Starfire” Lunt’s 30th birthday. The party turned into Homegrown and Lindquist’s band Giljunko was a consistent part of the festival’s early years. In fall 2004, Lindquist began forming a new act, the Little Black Books, with a frequently changing lineup that by 2010 included current members Bob Olson and Jim Hagstrom. Former members of Giljunko will join in at this year’s Homegrown to celebrate the festival’s landmark 20th anniversary. “We’re taking Giljunko requests — if anyone remembers those songs — in hopes that we’ll remember how to play them,” says Lindquist.
