The Little Black Books frontman Mark Lindquist performed at Scott “Starfire” Lunt’s 30th birthday party 21 years ago in a band called Giljunko. The party morphed into the annual Duluth music madness called Homegrown. Lindquist morphed too. The guitarist formed the Little Black Books in 2004 and has been cranking out rowdy, ramshackled rock anthems ever since. The band has recorded five albums, a handful of EPs and singles and landed on a few compilations, including the forthcoming Sylvan Tracks. With drummer Jim Hagstrom and bassist Bob Olson, the Little Black Books have opened for Tommy Stinson, the Hold Steady and Run Westy Run.
