Several of these gentlemen got their start in “weird, post-rock” bands in Duluth before relocating to the Twin Cities for college and regrouping there musically in 2014. Guitarist Daniel Rosen raised the idea of playing gypsy jazz and, through three albums, bassist Peter Whiteman, violinist Jonathan Halquist and guitarist Alan Peterson have refined and expanded that sound. While busking they discovered wearing retro vests and suspenders generated more tips, so that’s become a hallmark of the band. On their 2017 album Masquerade, the gentlemen added a lady, Kellie Rechert, on vocals, taking their sound to another level. The group has a new release planned for 2018.
