Siblings Ryan and Jesse Dermody have been making music for 19 years and have rocked Homegrown as the Brothers Burn Mountain since 2012. They’ve toured across the country over the years, particularly the Midwest, and played more than 1,700 live shows. In October they released their ninth album, Blue Spruce. A new record is already in the works—a collaboration with Alan Sparhawk of Low. In December the band received the highest honor attainable in the Duluth music scene when Fitger’s Brewhouse released Burn Mountain Rye, a toasted, slightly smoky rye Vienna lager brewed with just a hint of smoked chilies.
