In 1999, Mags David had a vision to teach women to sing in a fun, interactive and social setting. David wanted a choral sound that was earthy, textured and natural. Most of all, the group needed to “sound like people singing, not like polished singers.” Sing! A Women’s Chorus was born. The vocal group, featuring David’s original songs and arrangements, has been a creative jewel in Duluth’s music scene ever since. Now, after 550 rehearsals and performances, David has decided to step away. This Homegrown performance is part of a “Farewell Tour” that both breaks hearts and celebrates an amazing 20-year run.
