Nur Jehan Chishti

Nur Jehan Chishti is a four-piece ensemble led by Kristy Marie O’Neill that focuses on ancient East Indian devotional music. O’Neill, who performs on a harmonium pipe organ, is joined by drummer Bryce Kastning, guitarist and vocalist Emily Heart and Libby Gaalaas on clarinet. Together the group explores universal devotional music through ancient songs and chanting pieces sourced from around the world. The music is designed to weave its way into the heart and soul of the listener. “It’s the most healing and medicinal form of music that’s out there,” said O’Neill. “That’s what I think I’m supposed to be doing.”
