The five-piece boogie entourage New Salty Dog is composed of two drummers, two guitar players and one Calzone. Owen Mahon and Bryan “Lefty” Johnson make up the percussion duo, Jacob Mahon and Sam “Samtana” Deters are the string duo, and bassist Calvin Lund is the “Calzone.” Inspired by folk and funk traditions, New Salty Dog can be found playing gigs across the region, but the group anchors in Duluth on Monday nights for its “High Key Monday” residence at Bent Paddle Brewing.
