After the demise of Nat Harvie’s high school band Vivielle, the singer, songwriter and guitarist recorded a solo EP. The release show for that project in 2016 was also the debut of this “all queer” indie rock trio. Harvie enlisted drummer Sam Williams, who had played on the EP, and convinced good friend Becca DeBoer, who plays horns and accordion in Red Mountain, to take up the bass. The trio released a full-length album, Nat Harvie’s Broken Record, in 2018 (chosen as one of the top local albums of the year by the Duluth News Tribune) and toured together for the first time. Harvie produced the album and wrote all the songs in various locations including British Columbia, Duluth and Bogota, Colombia.
