Eau Claire native Sarah Krueger moved to Duluth in 2006 and quickly became part of the music scene. Her 2014 album, Lustrous, established her firmly as one of the city’s top talents, but the best was yet to come. After a bit of a hiatus, prolonged by the pandemic, Krueger emerged in 2021 with a new music project and album, Lanue. “I’m back in the water again, I’m back in the light,” she sings in the song “July,” perhaps metaphorically announcing her return with lyrics that carry added weight in the time of COVID-19. A second Lanue release, an EP produced by Alan Sparhawk, should be out around the time of Homegrown.
