Kyle Ollah

Duluth’s quintessential folk fiddler and old-time banjo player released the local album with the longest title last year: Used to Wear that Old Straw Hat, but Now You Wear the Crown. It was Kyle Ollah’s first full-length solo release, though it was preceded by two EPs and a pair of collaboration albums. On the latest effort are traditional folk songs reworked for guitar and five-string banjo accompaniment. Ollah has been a longtime collaborator with Charlie Parr and fiddles across the Midwest with Merila Hill String Band and Four Mile Portage.
