Hip-hop artist James Geisler writes, records, produces, mixes and masters each JamesG track. The album Get Out, released in November, is about self-discovery and trying new things by getting outside of one’s comfort zone. “A lot of people get stuck in a routine and it gets monotonous,” Geisler says. When performing, the artist likes to “go into each show with an open mind” in order to interact and “feel with the crowd.” Singer Cole Arvidson, or “Average Coal,” will also be joining Geisler on the Homegrown stage this year. Geisler works at the Music Resource Center in Duluth, helping other musicians develop their work.
