Holy Hootenanners

The Holy Hootenanners is an eight-piece group that performs “foot-stompin’, hoot-n-holler country gospel music.” The sound has evolved over time to include blues, soul and more original songs since the band’s start in a small Lutheran church in Mahtowa. The Rumble is the group’s most recent of three albums and includes songs written by mandolinist and vocalist Brooke Anderson, bassist and guitarist Jeff Gilbertson, and vocalist and guitarist Colleen Myhre. The ensemble also consists of drummer Eli Gilbertson, dobro player Zach Langhorst, lead guitarist Doug Soukkala, pianist Caleb Anderson and vocalist Donita Korpela. Their set includes “faith-based music for the soul that does not preach” and is intended for listeners of all religious or non-religious backgrounds.
