Named after a course from the classic snowboarding game SSX Tricky, Jamie Larson’s electronic project could fittingly be featured within the game’s soundtrack. The rave-like dance beats give the feeling of cruising down a snowy slope before bursting into a mid-air break dance. By combining a variety of samples that intertwine between layers of synth, Elysium Alps achieves a sound that feels both retro and futuristic simultaneously. Last September Larson released a 5-track EP titled Wild Blue on a label in Milwaukee. This was a follow up to the DJ’s first single, which was released on his own label, Thaw.
