ARP Diocese

Dueling keyboard weirdos Anton Jimenez-Kloeckl and Steve Sola started ARP Diocese in 2020 as a response to the global pandemic. They initially worked separately to create percussive sequences they could bring together to flesh out after the COVID-19 lockdown. Together they create their sounds on analog and FM synthesizers evolving over the steady movements of Swedish sequencers. “We use a MIDI clock and controlled voltage to tie our synthesizers together in tandem,” Jimenez-Kloeckl explained. “Using this method we are able to sequence full chords into sequential runs of notes. Great textural fun, and of course frees our hands up for even more modulation.” ARP is short for arpeggio/arpeggiator and a nod to ARP Instruments, manufacturer of Jimenez-Kloeckl’s first synthesizer, an ARP Axxe. Homegrown will be the duo’s second performance; the first was a set at the Embassy for the final Plaguestream event in April 2021.
