Aly Aleigha Schissel is an indie-folk musician who plays banjo and guitar. Inspired by artists such as the Head and the Heart, the Oh Hellos and the Lumineers, Schissel uses philosophical lyrics to tap into layers of the human soul. Along with a group of like-minded backing musicians Schissel released a full-length album, The Labyrinth, in 2016. That fall they traveled to Paoli, Penn., to play at a music festival, where they were awarded the Emerging Artist Award. This past summer, Schissel began working on her music full-time and in January signed to Rekindle Records, a faith-based, independent record label based in Chicago.
